Black Americans must maximize all available wealth-building opportunities, which means exploring more than careers in entertainment. Therefore, the overall theme of the book is to promote the idea that education/specialized skill attainment will aid our
collective prosperity.
Target Audience
The author would like to reach black youth when they are impressionable. Yet, the book's content can also be beneficial to a 50 year old considering a career change. The age range of 10-30 provides a loose target age group; however again, all ages can find the book resourceful.

Introduction
The introduction is an encouraging message to black youth on
how to reach their full potential.
Main Contents
More Than Entertainers exposes black youth to a variety of career opportunities by featuring 35 professionals, who share their personal insight and offer words of encouragement. (The vast majority of the participants are black males under the age of 35 years old). Educational requirements, potential employers, and expected pay are
detailed for each career path. Entrepreneur avenues are also highlighted within each career path, and professional career
organizations' web sites are listed.
Appendix
The beginning of the appendix starts out with 'Your Journey to Success,' which provides youth with the next steps to take
to seize success after reading the book. This section also provides a variety of organizations that focus on: after-school programs, parent involvement in education, educational enrichment, etc. Additionally, contact information for black career organizations are listed to foster mentorship. Lastly, the section ends with relevant statistics from the
